For families who are living within the BSD boundary and would like to enroll their student for the 2026-27 school year:

All New Students:
Transitional Kindergarten is available to all children who will have their fourth birthday by September 1st of the school year.
Our elementary schools have an established number of TK-5th students, and can accommodate new students based on capacity. If a school reaches capacity in any grade level, the ‘"overflow" students will be accommodated at one of the other elementary schools in the district.
New student enrollment is on a first-come first-served basis. The District encourages parents/guardians to enroll early in the process. There is no guarantee of attendance in the student’s neighborhood school. The placement of each student is subject to capacity at each school.
Steps to complete enrollment:
- Determine your neighborhood elementary school where you would enroll by looking up your address on the boundaries list.
- Provide the following required documentation by uploading them during the online registration process or delivering them in person to your child's home school:
- Proof of Birth (provide one of the following)
- Birth certificate
- Statement by local registrar or county recorder certifying date of birth
- Baptism certificate
- Passport
- Affidavit of parent, guardian, or custodian
- Proof of Residence (provide TWO of the following)
- Property tax payment receipt
- Rental property contract or lease agreement (must be current)
- Major utility service (PG&E or water) statement, contract, or payment receipt
- Pay stub
- Voter registration
- Correspondence from a government agency
- Declaration of Shared Residency Form executed by the parent or legal guardian of the student
- Proof of Required Immunizations
- For California required immunizations guidelines, see below. Students may NOT start school until all required immunizations are completed.
- Proof of Birth (provide one of the following)
NOTE: All students will also need a health checkup before school starts. The exam should be after March 1st of this year. You should bring the Health Exam Form to your doctor and return it to the school after the exam or upload it to the online registration system.
All Kindergarten students, please print and have Oral Health form filled out by a California licensed dental professional. Turn in the form to your school on or before May 31st.
Do I have to answer all the questions?
- Questions marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.
Can I come back to registration and finish later?
- Yes, you may log back in using the username and password you created. The registration system will take you to the page you left off on.
What if I make a mistake?
- If you would like to make a change, prior to submitting the form, you can either navigate back to the page using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons. Or if you are on the Review page, click on the underlined field. If you have already submitted the form, then you will need to contact your student’s school, so they can make the changes for you.
I’ve completed the form, now what?
- Once you have finished entering your information, click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If the submit button is grayed out, you will need to make sure that you have answered all of the required questions. Required questions are indicated by a red asterisk (*).
What if I have more than one student in the district? Do I need to do this for each student?
- Yes, you are required to complete one registration per student in order to provide information that is specific for each student.
