Why work in BSD?

Burlingame School District, located on the beautiful San Francisco Peninsula, is within easy commuting distance of San Francisco and many other areas serving educational, cultural, and recreational interests.  Burlingame School District features six TK-5 elementary schools and one 6-8 intermediate school totaling an enrollment of approximately 3500 students.  These neighborhood schools provide high quality instruction and attention to each child's needs.

Programs, which include a Spanish Immersion program for grades K-8 and Project Based Learning for grades 6-8, are characterized by cooperative learning, small group instruction, and peer tutoring, direct design thinking and 21st Century learning and integration of technology. Excellence is our goal and our schools rank at the highest level in the California State Testing measures.

Community support is what really makes Burlingame School District the jewel that it is.  Whether from the vision and strength of the Burlingame Community Education Foundation (BCE) or the hard work of the Parent Teacher Association, or the comradery of the Dad’s clubs, Burlingame School District benefits from the passion of the Burlingame community, who provide both strong financial support and countless hours of volunteer work.
