Dear Burlingame Community,

Born and raised in Sacramento, the youngest of three children. Her oldest sister, Amber, born with Down Syndrome pushed Dr. Silvermith's life into advocacy from the day she was born. Dr. Silversmith earned her administrative, multiple subject, mild/moderate, and moderate/severe credentials, along with her Master's of Education, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from East Carolina University. In earning the spectrum of teaching credentials, she was able to ensure that she was able to teach any student who joined her classroom. She takes responsiblity to provide a quality and well-rounded education for each and every student very seriously in the areas of academics, behavioral, and social-emotional. Dr. Silversmith lives by the belief that "In the craft of teaching, I firmly believe it is imperative to unlearn and learn again for what is right for students and community."

Dr. Silversmith currently serves the Burlingame School District as the Superintendent, after serving there as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for over five years. She currently resides in the Bay Area with her husband, Jeff, where they are the proud parents to three graduates of a Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion program: Ava (SDSU '26), Peyton (Chico State '28), and Rylan (SDSU '30), alongside two amazing poodles. 

As a passionate believer in equity, she just completed serving two terms on the State Council of Developmental Disabilities Regional Advisory Committee, where she advocated for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities throughout the state and its many systems. Dr. Silversmith has presented throughout the State and National levels regarding students receiving what they need when they need it to ensure at least a year's worth of growth academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally.
