2024 - 2025 New Student Registration

How do I get started?

  • Please read all of the information on this page to register a new student. Click the link below to start registration.
2024-2025 New Student Registration will begin on February 1st, 2024 at 9:00 am.

All New Students:

New Student Enrollment, including Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students, will begin on February 1, 2024. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024, for the 2024-2025 school year.

Transitional Kindergarten is available to students whose fifth birthday is between September 2, 2024, and June 2, 2025.

Schools have an established number of K-5 students that each can accommodate based on capacity. If a school reaches capacity in any grade level, the ‘unhoused’ students will be accommodated at one of the other elementary schools in the district.

New student enrollment will be on a first-come-first-served basis. The District encourages parents to enroll early in the process. There is no guarantee of attendance in the student’s neighborhood school. The placement of each student is subject to capacity at each school.

Steps to complete enrollment:

  1. Determine your neighborhood elementary school where you would enroll by looking up your address on the boundaries list
  2. Provide the following required documentation either by uploading them while you are registering online or delivering them in person to your child's school:
    1. Proof of Birthdate show one of the following:
      • Certified copy of the birth record
      • Statement by the local registrar or county recorder certifying the date of birth
      • Baptism certificate
      • Passport
      • Affidavit of the parent, guardian or custodian
    2. Proof of Residence
      • Property tax payments receipts
      • Rental property contract, lease, or payment receipts
      • A utility service contract, statements, or payment receipts
      • Pay stubs
      • Voter registration
      • Correspondence from a government agency
      • Declaration of residency executed by the parent or legal guardian of the student
    3. Proof of Required Immunizations
      • For California required immunizations guidelines, see below. Students may not start school until all required immunizations are completed.

Note: All children will also need a health checkup before school starts. The exam should be after March 1st of this year. You should bring the Health Exam Form to your doctor and return it to the school after the exam or upload it to the online registration system.

All Kindergarten students please print and have Oral Health form filled out by a California licensed dental professional. Turn in on or before May 31st.

Affidavit of Residence - If both the student and the parent are living in a home where the parent's name does not appear on the proof of residence, both the parent and the person with whom the parent/child resides must sign an Affidavit of Residence.

  • The homeowner/leaseholder must submit two original proofs of residency (one from each group listed above), and show a picture ID in person.
  • The parent is then required to submit one additional original proof of residency in their name within 30 days.
  • A renewed Affidavit and proof of residency may be required each subsequent year.

Residency - Students must be physically living with their parent/guardian within district boundaries at the time of registration (BP 51111 Education Code 48200).  Ownership of real property within the district does not in and itself constitute residency.
