Burlingame SD's approach to professional learning is guided by the Quality Professional Learning Standards, which provide a coherent, evidence-based framework for building educator capacity across our district.

Burlingame's Transitional Kindergarten program has grown into a thriving offering serving over 130 students across all six school sites. Our extended-day program balances academic foundations in literacy, math, and science with joyful play, while fostering social-emotional skills through Second Step and Kimochis. Students enjoy three recess periods, weekly specials (music, PE, library), and multiple free-choice times. Our highly qualified, certificated teachers with specialized early childhood training create warm, supportive environments where four-year-olds explore, grow, and develop confidence and kindness.
