Board Meeting Briefs for March 13, 2018

The Burlingame School Board of Trustees held its regular meeting on March 13, 2018.



The Board of Trustees approved a resolution that supports Student Safety in California's Public Schools. Click here to read the resolution.


Joint Session of BCE and BSD to discuss 2018-2019 goals

The Burlingame Community Education Foundation provided an update on the fundraising efforts. To date, BCE has raised a net $1.3 million. Currently, BCE is conducting phone banking which is much earlier than previous years. The BSD Board of Trustees expressed a heartfelt gratitude to BCE for their vision and all their hard work.


Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) within Burlingame Schools

Summer School

The Board of Trustees received an overview of the Summer School model for 2018. The District will be contracting with Camp Galileo again this year. They will have a two-week full day program for 1st-5th grade starting July 16th through August 6th. Camp Galileo focuses on engaging an enrichment project-based activities in Science, VAPA, and outside exploration. The District is also hoping to host the brand new Kindergarten University which will be for incoming Kindergarten students that have not had any school experience.
