Message from the Superintendent ~ 03-18-18

Dear Burlingame School Community,
Thank you for your support in a difficult time.  As you know there was no school on Friday at BIS and administration, office and custodial staff were there to oversee the campus.   All the elementary schools were open on Friday and nothing out of the ordinary took place at any of our school sites.  Friday night the opening performance of Les Misearble took place and the theater was packed.  Our BIS students and staff did an amazing job that evening as well as on Saturday night.
All schools will be open on Monday, March 19, 2018.  Each of the school sites will be prepared to welcome back our students in the morning.  Below are references for parents with recommendations for conversing with your child about safety.  School counselors and psychologists will be on hand to speak to students throughout the week.

Please know that we will continue to keep the safety and emotional well being of our students at the center of the work we do.  Many of you emailed suggestions for continued safety.  Suggestions will be considered by staff and will be discussed and presented to the Board at a public meeting in the near future.  We will keep you posted through the district website at http://www.burlingameschools.org/.
Dr. Maggie MacIsaac
BSD Superintendent
