School Safety

safetySafe school notice
The Burlingame School District is proud to be a part of the Big Five, a common emergency plan adopted by all San Mateo
County School Districts.  The Big Five provides protocols for different emergencies and supports high quality training for school staff and community members and ensures clear channels of communications with schools, first responders, parents and community    members should an emergency occur.

See school emergency guidelines for Big Five community information.

Five times per year we hold a District Safety Committee Meeting.  The committee has representatives from school sites and the community.

Burlingame School District has implemented many safety protocols over the last several years.  We have added fences with locking gates, closed campus while students are present, lanyards with ID for staff, door locks that lock from the inside, emergency broadcast notification at each site, doorbell entry with screen view.
