After graduating from Indiana University with degrees in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, and Sociology, Kate relocated to the Bay Area and worked for Gap Inc. where she held various positions in International Sourcing, Production, and Supply Chain at Old Navy for almost 20 years.

Since "retiring" from Gap Inc., Kate has held various roles within the Roosevelt PTA, including secretary, historian, numerous site committees and also as the Chili Cook-Off Chair for 3 years.  Additionally, she has been an active member of the Burlingame Community for Education (BCE) Foundation- First as the Annual Gala Event Chair for 2 years then 2 years on the BCE Board as the VP of Events.

Florence is grateful for the opportunity to help shape our school community by serving as a Trustee for the Burlingame School District.  She offers a unique perspective to the School Board through her experience as a volunteer in our community and as a clinical psychologist.

Florence has lived in Burlingame since 2003 and currently has one child in the Burlingame School District (BIS) and one child in high school.  Her older child has special needs, so she has been active in BSD's Special Education District Advisory Committee (SEDAC), acting as Chair for three-and-a-half years.  SEDAC's most notable role is to plan and implement Ability Awareness and Tolerance Week every October.  She also enjoys volunteering at the site level, participating in activities ranging from PTA financial secretary and yard duty to karaoke lunch club and stuffing envelopes.

She has been a supporter of Burlingame Community for Education foundation (BCE) for many years.  She served two years on its Board, one year as a Roosevelt Site Representative and one year as VP of Scholars Circle.

Outside of school-related activities, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing piano, and volunteering for American Red Cross's casework and disaster mental health teams.
